December Minutes and 2023 calendar plan

December 1st, 2022 Meeting minutes and Business meeting minutes

Attendance wasn’t taken, but we had a good crowd and saw a few faces we hadn’t seen in while.

Secretaries report: Minutes were emailed-no changes noted

Treasurer Report: Bank account has been set up again and Kim and Sue are signers on it.

Misty still has some money from the Fall show (was transferred to Kim at our leadership meeting).

Old Business: Reminder that Scavenger Hunt is due at the January meeting. Bring a 4×6 print for each category(listed in business minutes below). All pictures must be taken October, November, or December of 2022.

Time to eat and Play games. Special thanks to our party planning committee, Bev, Misty, Kim, and Bonnie J. and their game helpers Rod and Lilly. A fun time was had by all.

Business 2023 Planning Meeting and Activity Calendar

Reminder that Dues are due for 2023 $25 individual and $35 family

January 5th – Running Meeting: Kamal

Program: Scavenger hunt (Categories shot in October, November, and December – Winter Wonderland, rule of odds, pumpkins, fall colors, Black and White Minimalism, Celebrations, Open this Quarter Only, and Holiday Party Picture(bonus category) and Kamal will talk about shooting in Snow.

We will also discuss ideas for our September workshop and vote to see which ones we should pursue. Possible topics for a half or whole day workshop are: Portrait photography and posing, Landscapes, Ohio Nature Education Birds of Prey workshop, Videography, Shooting for Black and White (Toning and composition), and Kamal will check with Midwest Photo to see what types of offerings they might have that would appeal to members, and see if they would travel down to teach something. If you have any other ideas or contact for potential teachers please let us know.

Field Trip: Sue will contact Camp OtyOkwa to see if we can do a winter hike there for a field trip in January to practice our Ice and Snow Photography. Date TBD

Field trip: February 25th Old Shoe Factory Antique Mall Meet at 10am and then go downtown for lunch afterwards.

March 2nd – Running Meeting: Kim

Program: Food Photography

March 16th-19 Spring ShowJudging Categories Are: Green, Abstracts, Vacation, Landscapes, Wildlife, Special Effects
We will do a potluck assuming no big jump in Covid cases.
Ideas for classes: Fine Art Photography: Kim and Rod, Storytelling in Vacation/Travel Photography: Kamal, Choosing paper and Printing Profiles: Rod

We also discussed T-shirts – Rod and Kim may be able to print them for us, Making Membership ID tags for our photo shoots, and updating and distributing the member Directory.
